I just saw this post on A Cup of Jo (one of my favorite blogs) this morning, and WOW the north fork is one of her top places to visit! Not that I am shocked since, we do live in the best kept secret on the east coast :) But it was so nice to see! These pictures make me crave the summer again. Check out the post here.

cold shores

Just some pictures of the kids playing at the beach which is fun even at winter time. These seagulls are our new fav friends. There are tons of them and they love anything from stale fritos left in the car to english muffins. We also found some nice treasures hiding in the sand, perfect for homemade holiday gifts. Thinkin rock snowmen and driftwood miniboats this year.

cozy cozy

Sometimes I wish I could get rid of all the tons of stuff we have and simplify everything, move out to the woods and live in a place like this. So unrealistic for a family with two babes but so nice to fantasize :) I love this time of year when the air has that brisk freshness about it and you feel invigorated and excited for the first snow storms and holiday bonanzas.

holiday buzz

This town is so darn cute around the holidays. We saw the tree lighting in Greenport, listened to carolers and saw a surprise santa drive up in a firetruck recently. Each town has it's own lighting and santa treat. There are also all sorts of concerts and activities, you could never get bored. Come gloomy February I will most definitely miss all the action, so we are soaking it up.

Gonna make some fruitcake with Grammy today and check out if ice skating is starting soon. If only the rain would turn to snow...I think we are ready :)

bling bling

These LED lights strung on bendable wire are too much fun. There are all different lengths and some come with a timer so you dont waste the battery. There are so many creative things you could do with these. I love how miniature they are.

moonlight in vermont

We recently went to Vermont and it was just breathtaking up there. We got there right at the peak time when all the leaves were their brightest. The weather was so warm but you could still smell fall in the air and we had fires going everyday. Ive only seen Vermont in the winter and i love it then, but the fall was really unbelievable-like out of a painting everywhere you looked....

Made in the U.S.A.

My sisters mother in law, Judy Collischan, has published multiple books and has recently published the first electronic text book on contemporary/modern art-pretty amazing stuff!!!

It can be easily downloaded and is totally economical – only $9.95, and it's portable. Illustrations, plus interviews, films and more pop up with just a click.

You can download it at Barnes and Noble here. Hard copy is available at

It is no surprise she is the first one to do this, she is an accomplished college professor, curator, critic and author - amazing woman! ....feeling like I need to step it up a bit :)

I love this idea because i swear I use a roll of paper towels a day and i could use someplace in the kitchen to store them. Now I just need an extra drawer....who has that though? :)

Michael Patterson

Right now this is my favorite artist. I have one of his paintings from his beach collection and these images do not do it justice. When you look at it you feel like you are on the beach. The colors are brilliant and I just love the way he paints the water all sparkly and bright...just like it is at 4pm looking out on the waves. His other works are wonderful too but I have not seen them in person...would love to though...

I remember once I had this great idea to make a shoe that had a detachable heal for women who always had to wear heals and be bothered with their feet killing them. It never worked out but I always thought it was brilliant. I mean how many of us suffer from our shoes killing us? This footzyroll is a new fantastic idea that would totally fix the problem. Its a rollable foldable shoe - fits right in your purse, and they are totally cute!! The simple ones are classic and perfect but I am also really loving the safari loafer...all of the styles totally reasonable as well.
