rainy day blues

geranium

Check out this brilliant nail polish, Geranium, sure to wipe away your spring blues. Found via the fantastic  bias cut. I'm kinda into red lately which is not like me, I'm much more a pink person. But I'm diggin the preppy look of red and the slight hint of orange in this polish makes it a bit more exciting.

baby teething jewels

I love the idea of this teething toy for babies that is also a necklace for mommy. We are totally teething right now and I'm getting kinda tired of my hair and earings being confused for tugging toys. This is a great fix. Super cute too!

greenport prettiest town!!

Check out this Forbes article on our very own Greenport being one of the prettiest towns in the country! Maybe this means my house will be worth what we bought it for again?? HA!

"But hidden away at the tip of the North Fork, far from the famous and the fatuous, is a town that perfectly mixes unpretentious Americana with the trappings of the modern food and wine scene. Landing a spot on our list of prettiest places, Greenport is perhaps Long Island’s most attractive locale–quaint summer cottages push up against old-school seafood shacks and fancy restaurants (the inventive seafood options at The Frisky Oyster never disappoint), with beach and boating options never more than ten minutes away.
“Things are much more low-key along the Peconic Bay on the North Fork,” says Jason Clampet, online editor at Frommer’s.com. “Although Manhattanites have brought art galleries and coffeeshops with them, Greenport’s small inns, pebbly beaches, and fishing heritage still cater to visitors who’d rather relax than star-gaze.

heres hopin

custer

Custer Institute in Southold is open each Saturday night for stargazing. From dusk until midnight, stargazers are allowed to tour the facility and use the powerful telescopes to review the night sky. The fee for adults is $5, $3 for children under 14, and the event is free for members.
Its an awesome experience. Its mixed up with all these private homes and you just drive up on the grass and walk on in.  Check it out this spring...its a great date night!

only on the nofo

Only on the north fork can you make a tracker and dilapidated house look beautiful. There are plenty of both out here.. the true locals.

this is crazy

I just love this eco-cradle! The cardboard rocking crib can be assembled and taken apart in minutes without any tools. Very light and foldable, you can take it anywhere in its cardboard carry case, it takes no space and can easily be moved from one room to another. I remember moving my daughter in her bassinet from one room to the next and it was a pain to say the least. Something that is lightweight and you can take with you into the bathroom while you shower and primp is an excellent idea. Anything that makes it easier to shower when you have kids is a huge perk in my book!

I really love this artwork found on castle and things via Black Eiffel. I think it would be really fun to replicate and make it your own. Great project with kids...get some colorful felt and glue and there ya go!

GLEE - "Hey Soul Sister"

Learning "Hey Soul Sister" on the guitar now ...can't get enough of glee or the radio lately. Not sure what's happening to me but I'm watching American Idol and listening to glee songs, but they are super happy and fun so I'm not gonna judge. I should start a glee club for stay at home moms-super dork right here!
