vacation dreaming

I've had my eye on this Block Island barn for a while now. Just waiting for that perfect time to book a quiet get-away. The views are just sensational and I still can't get over how reasonable it is. I love convenient vacation spots and avoiding airports, especially with kids. And! having a barn bonanza planned always helps to make the winter months fly by.

Located on ten acres of oceanfront land, this romantic getaway offers splendid isolation with spectacular views of Long Island Sound and the Audubon property. An outside stairway leads to the upper floor of the "barn", one large space with a king-size bed built up for a view of ocean sunsets from the large window on one end, and at the other end of the space there is also a double bed and large hayloft doors that open upon rolling meadows. The barn is on the bluffs above the water but a private path leads to the rocky beach, great for surfcasting and beach combing. Swimming is not recommended because of the difficulty of getting in and out of the water over the stones. Suitable for a couple or small family, the Barn at Schooner Point is romantic. A gas grill, picnic table, hammock and two lounge chairs are provided. The bathroom has a shower and a window over the sink with a lovely view.
